JTF2019 -JTEKT Technical Fair 2019
at Kariya plant held from November 13 to 15, 2019.

JTEKT has systematized the basic technology and the latest technology to be installed in the company's machine tools as a new brand "TAKTICA". It covers a wide range of technologies from those already installed to those that will be installed in future products.  The company's private technology exhibition "JTEKT Technical Fair 2019" (JTF2019, Kariya) held from November 13 to 15, 2019

, which is called "Key technology that leads manufacturing to the next generation" consists of three main areas. The first is "TAKTICA TECH" which is standardly incorporated into machine tools as basic technology such as thermal displacement correction, robots, and image recognition. The second is "TAKTICA SMART" an intelligent technology that utilizes artificial intelligence (AI). It consists of chatter detection, tool wear detection, automatic determination of cutting conditions, modeling of machining know-how, etc., and will be provided mainly as an optional function. The third is "TAKTICA BEYOND" which proposes new technologies in the future, such as machining control of cylindrical grinding of gear tooth surfaces.

The machine automatically sets the optimum machining conditions

For example, at JTF2019, we unveiled a camshaft grinding system that incorporates TAKTICA technology into the newly released camshaft grinding machines "GC20S" and "GL32S." The GC20S and GL32S are grinding machines that use a cubic boron nitride (CBN) grindstone. The GC20S grinds the cam lob part of the camshaft and the GL32S grinds the journal part. The new grinding machine uses a direct drive motor and high-rigidity fluid bearings to reduce the size of the grindstone base and reduce the size of the device body.

Furthermore, a compact but highly rigid grindstone shaft is realized by the static pressure guide, which is one of TAKTICA TECH, and the system "STAT CONTROL" that controls the amount of oil in the static pressure bearing. It is said that the processing time has been shortened by increasing the spindle speed by 1.3 times and the depth of cut of the grindstone by 1.2 times compared to competing products of other companies. Machining accuracy is improved by "THERMAL MATRIX-C" that corrects thermal displacement.

In addition, the grinding system that was unveiled included a robot "TRANSPIDER" for transporting workpieces and "MEISTER'S EYE" that discriminates workpieces from image information. TRANSPIDER is a wall-mounted articulated robot that runs on rails installed on top of machine tools. It can be installed in a small space without the need for a safety fence

As TAKTICA SMART, which is an intelligent technology, in addition to "CHATTER CHECKER" that predicts chatter and "BURN CHEKER" that predicts burnt work, processing conditions are automatically set based on the company's know-how and equipment performance while exhibiting for reference. The optimized "TAKUMI NURON" was also installed in the system. He is confident that he can realize an autonomous system in which equipment continues to evolve.
